    Adding to the Recipe Book

Post by Admin on Fri 25 Jul - 3:10

It would be wonderful to have an ongoing list of recipes to create a dynamic pro-ana recipe book. It can include ways to spice up shirataki noodles to low-cal vegan versions of baked goods. Anything is possible so long as it seems suitable for pro-ana. Not sure if the recipe fits? post it in the general kitchen and I can move it later enough people want it in the recipe book.

At the moment, this site does not have the capacity to host images. If you would like to include pictures of of your recipe or pictures for instruction, please use an image hosting site and link to the image. There are many available such as Imgur, Photobucket, Imageshack, deviantART, and Tinypic. In the future, off-site hosting may not be necessary.

Since many of the members on this site are following a strict diet, it would help to include nutritional information along with your recipe. You can post this information in spoiler tags by placing it between the two spoiler BBCode tags. This is an example of what you would type for spoiler tags:
    Code:
[spoiler] *type information you want hidden in spoiler tags here* [/spoiler]

While I believe in providing as much nutritional information as possible, it is not always plausible. This will be the minimum amount of information required:

    • Calories per serving (or 100g or 100ml)
    • grams of fat
    • grams of saturated fat
    • grams of protein
    • grams of carbohydrates
    • grams of sugar

Both the EU and US require all of this information on packaged food, so calculating this information shouldn't be too difficult.

Here's some helpful websites to calculate nutritional information in a recipe:

http://nutritiondata.self.com/mynd/myrecipes/welcome?returnto=/mynd/myrecipes (you need to create an account)

If you have any questions or need help calculating nutritional information, feel free to send me or a moderator a message and we'll be glad to assist you.
